All-knowing we seem; drifting through the universe, wondering. (#1) is the first work in an ongoing video series that examines the entanglements between humans and the more-than-human, where geology, water, and living beings continuously shape one another. Throughout the series, bodies of water remain quietly present—not as central subjects, but as agents that connect places, carry memory, and participate in the continual transformation of the earth.
Set in Cappadocia, Turkey, the video encounters a terrain where volcanic formations, subterranean cities, and contemporary settlements coexist across multiple temporalities. Here, rock, water, erosion, and human intervention are understood as co-authors of the environment rather than separate forces. By following these intertwined processes, the work unsettles the illusion of human mastery and invites us to inhabit a position of wonder within a world that is constantly shaping—and being shaped by—more-than-human relations.
