“Donetsk” is a city situated in eastern Ukraine. More specifically, “Donetsk” is the blended result of my impressions about an era, a country, a city, a people that I experienced through my significant other.

21.12.2004 – 19.08.2005 / 198 Polaroid

Gratitude is what her name meant. Gratitude is what I felt for her and I wanted her to know that.

I have not much to say.
I did not take the last photograph.
If I did, I would have been a different person now; or maybe I would have taken it if I were a different person.
That nonexistent photograph belongs to one of my “decisive moments”.

The last photograph is absent, the same way she is. Maybe that’s the whole story.
